Announcements:
Grade reports are sent home every Tuesday. They are to be signed and returned, if not, students are not eligible.

Boys' Basketball and Girls' Soccer has begun.  Practices are on Tuesday and Wednesdays 2:45- 4:00

8th Grade Math
Weekly standards:  Angle Relationships in Parallel Lines and Triangles  8.EE.7b, 8.G.5

DAILY AGENDA: 

Pentathlon review 10 minutes

Weekly standards: Understand how to calculate circumference and area of a circle.  Understand how to calculate the area of composite shapes. 7.G.4

2.  As class review formula rules and begin to solve composite shapes together

DAILY AGENDA 

Monday:

1. Video and notes on Ecosystems

Tuesday:

Biotic vs Abiotic factors review.  Create blog for you Ecosystem; please include the following:
  • Title of you Ecosystem
  • A map showing where it is
  • One good image of that ecosystem
  • Include a list of biotic and abiotic factors in your ecosystem
  • Include at least 2 images for biotic factors and 2 images of abiotic factors.
Wednesday:

 Watch Limiting Factors  and Carrying Capacity video  and list limiting factors for your ecosystem.
1.  Copy and paste notes from carrying capacity and limiting factors
2.  Identify one organism from your ecosystem
3.  Explain one limiting factor for its population growth and explain how limiting factors effect the carrying capacity of that ecosystem.
4.  Insert two good images representing your organism and its environment.

Thursday: 
1.  Finish your post on carrying capacity and limiting factors
2.  Read "Interactions Among Organisms" and answer questions.
3.  Simulations of various predator/prey interactions.
4.  Describe one example of predator/prey situation from your ecosystem. Explain what will happen if more predators are introduced.

Friday:
1.  Notes on Symbiotic Relationships.  
2.  Find and describe two organisms in your ecosystem that have a symbiotic relationship.

Monday:  

Assign terrarium
1.  Complete notes on Symbiotic Relationships - 8th begin with Amensalism
2. Read Living Interactions. Each partner group is responsible for researching and creating a one minute summary of the symbiotic relationship of their choice and presenting it to the class. You have 15 minutes to do this!
3. Add notes and an example of symbiotic relationships to you Ecosystem blog
